Help! My Ph Is Way Too Low And My Fish Are Dying!

yeah, i dont really think that there is much else we can look for, from what iv been told by others too, i will just monitor it and try the coral too, thankyou for all the advice everyone, will just have to hope that the ph has leveled out till i get he coral organised! appreciate your advice on the stocking issue too...

also on another note i dont know if it just me being paranoid but iv spent the whole afternoon observing the tank/fish testing the water and have noticied that my fighters are looking a little swolen on their bellys, i noticied the fermale was looking a little tubby 3 nights ago but i put that down to carrying eggs (as a website advised) but tonight i noticied that the male is looking swollen too a little, have looked it up but am being advised to fast them or try epsom salt bath, is this the best thing to try or will taking them out of the tank cause them too much stress????

many thanks, appreciate all the advice/help guys!!!!

At least one of those fish needs to be taken from the tank Crystabubble. The male and female fighters will fight each other unless they are actively spawning at the moment, which I doubt with your other problems. I must ask how often and how much water you are changing. It strikes me as most likely that the semi-soft water has had its buffering capacity used up by the fish and fish food producing ammonia that ends up becoming nitrates. The other possibility is that plants are holding down the nitrate build up but are consuming the carbonate buffer as carbon fertilizer, which puts us back to needing more, or larger, water changes. Either way, I would look to starting to recover the proper tank parameters by doing larger of or more frequent water changes. ( just a guess from what you have and have not said)
