Got a bit of a nightmare. I have 3 jewels and noticed 2 of them turned red, Over the weekend 9 of my tiger barbs have dissapeared.

Decided to take the Jewels back to Lps. have just this minute noticed Eggs on sand inbetween plants. (hundreds of them )Both the jewels are protecting them in turns.

They are mauling anything that goes near them.

Not sure if i should leave jewels as they are or take them out?

Do they eat the fry or are they gonna look after them?

Advice appreciated

Thanks

Zoe :good:

Funny this thread should arise ill be in the market for a couple of juwels in a few weeks so if you have luck with the fry ill take some off you whatever you want for them let me know lol

Congrats on eggs, i personally would remove every single fish apart from the parents if they are guarding the eggs they will probably raise the young aswell, breeding fish always come first in my tanks.

I was wanting to take the Breeding pair back to LPS. No where to put my other fish Hopefully everything will be ok over night with other fish. If i take the jewels out i take it the eggs wont hatch?

Thanks again

As the parents won't be able to fan them they could get covered in gunk, and develop fungus, you could carefully put them in a breeding trap and add an air stone though.

How much did you pay for the pair and would you be willing to sell them rather than send them back i could send up all the relevant packaging for posting then have a courier come collect just let me know how much you payed for them and ill give you the same :good:
