Help - I Found Baby Fish, Now Have 5, Pls Help

Well I moved them into my other tank yesterday but could only find 3 of the 5 after the move :( Dunno how I lost them. Got some food but now they're in a tank with no filter. What's the best thing I can do? I've got a couple of fake plants so I'll pop them in the tank in a while. I don't really want to spend loads but another £20ish would be fine as I wasn''t really plannig on breeding fish, it's just kinda happened.

Thanx
Dani

Hi, I often find danio fry in my filter or in the bucket of water after a gravel vac! Whilst the fry are still very tiny I put them in a spare 20 litre plastic tank which only cost a few quid, filled with water from the tank. (Ive found using a plastic spoon is good for fishing them out!) Ive also moved some small stones and a small java fern from the main tank into there too. I fed them on liquifry for the first week or so and then fed them on normal flake food that I finely crushed into powder. I do a 50% water change every day - very slowly, just adding a bit of the fresh water in stages throughout the day as Im concerned that if a large amount of water is changed suddenly, the fish could react badly due to the possible sudden change in water chemistry or even a small temperature variation. Ive tested the water parameters regularly and made sure that there has never been even a hint of ammonia or nitrite. Fortunately it has worked very well, the water has remained stable throughout and the danio fry have all survived and grown quickly. They are now big enough to go in with larger platty fry in my 'grow out tank'.

Good luck with your fry. Danios are great fish to watch, and even when they are just a few weeks old you can already see their crazy characters forming!!! :)
