6-7weeks old.

Has had a massive problem with Ammonia though, but getting over the worst.

Is the Bio-max stones ment to be covered in mucky slime

The slime could be a biofilm from a bacterial bloom but i wouldn't like to say that for sure, i'm fairly new myself so a more experienced memeber's advice will be a million times more useful

but iv done a 90% change today, i only added some Filter aid before going out, and come back to this.....

agreed, i had the same stuff happen to my tank before i got it cycled, id say a bacterial bloom for sure, but! i could be wrong so im sure if i am i will be corrected by some one else who knows more about it then me

should i wash off this slime becuase it seems to be just blowing all the rubbish back in the tank

when you say "slime" can you describe it more? does it have a colour?

the container that all the stones are in has a brown muckly slime all over it and all the stones are stuck together with this brown slime

Was there a reason why you changed 90% of the water? the tank is still young and needs to cycle properly, I don't think filter aid does anything, it's a gimmick from what I have heard? it looks like you have fish in the tank? how many and what type are present? when were they added? are you able to check your water stats with a test kit so we can see the results and help you determine the cause.

i lost 5 fish today!!!!

my readings 12hours after doing a 90% water change are.

ammonia - 4ppm

Nitrite - 8ppm

What is going on and is it ok to clean these bio stones

It could be that your tank hasn't cycled yet. Keep doing 50-70% water changes every hour until you have the levels down to safe levels.
Test an hour after changing the water and change again if needed. Be careful to match the water temp as closely as you can.
Hopefully a more experience member will be on soon to give you some further advice

Your tank has definitely not cycled yet. If you still have those huge readings, you need to do several large, like 90%, water changes and get your chemistry under control. The huge water changes are much safer for the fish than chemical readings in whole numbers. We do water changes to control chemicals even when the reading is only0.5 ppm. At 8 ppm, the water is an immediate threat to the fish.
