Help Decideing What Type Of Fish To Get

I am looking for some advise on what type of fish to get as tank mates for what I currently have. I have a 55 gallon tank (48 inches long x 12.5 inches wide x 21 inches high). In it, I have the following fish:
3 Leopard Danio's
2 Clown Loaches
2 Dwarf Honey Gourami's
1 Bristle Nose Pleco
1 Albino Cory
1 Emerald Cory

My setup consists of:
1x HOB Bio System Power Filter & Oxy Surface Skimmer
It is rated for up to 75 gallons and has a surface skimmer as well.
1x Air Pump with a sponge filter
1x Maxi-Jet 1200 Powerhead.
1x 65 gallon heater
Eco-Complete Substrate
8 medium - large plastic plants
1 cave area (Loaches seem to have claimed it as they hide in there all the time except for at night)
4 lbs. of African Driftwood.

My water parameters are all very good(Nitrite, Nitrate, and Ammonia at or nearly 0), except for my pH. I am still having to bring it down from 8.0+. I used some Proper pH 7.0 to try and get it lower but I do not want to have to do that all the time so I am just going to work with it to get it down lower. I also have about 4 lbs. of African Driftwood in it as well. I also do weekly 15-20% water changes. I also have 2 other tanks that are used for spare/emergency tanks. They are a 20g and 30g with the proper HOB filters for them.

Anyways, I just figured I would give my current setup so more suggestions would be more catered towards my current tank and its inhabitants. I have been keeping fish for about 2 years and want to get into some larger and vibrant fish. I have been looking towards Angel Fish, Discus, or Black Ghost Knife Fish but I am not sure if my tanks are large enough to house them properly. My tank setup does not matter to me as far as how I have to have it set. It has had live plants in it and I am not sure if I want to try my hand at live plants again as they died from having the roots eaten up by some mollies I had in it a while ago. Any suggestions on what would be a good fit for my tank? If I had to get rid of any fish to make room for new ones, the 3 danio's could be moved to another tank or sold. Not really attached to them.

Thanks in advance!

tenke56 i would advise you to get more Danios and Loaches, stock your Leopard Danios up to 10 and the Clown Loaches to 5. So id get another 7 Danios and 3 more Loaches. This is because Danios are a schooling species and like to be kept in groups 3 is too few and the Loaches also like to be kept in small groups.

Thanks for the input. I might have to get some more loaches. I am really looking at getting rid of the danio's though as they sometimes chase my gourami's.

Then why not get some type of Tetra then!

I didn't think of that as they tend to stay right next to each other at all times. I hardly ever see them away from each other.

they will be more active with more of there own kind, idealy they should be in groups of at least 6

is there a way to tell the sexes of cory's? I wouldn't mind trying to get a pair.

i am not sure, i think females are usually bigger but i'm no expert on cories so best ask in the cory section

I didn't see your last reply Andy. I had some tetra's in my 30g tank before I moved to a 55g tank and the stress of the move caused my last few tetra's to die. I had 10 initially and had 3 when I made the move 6 months ago. I decided to not get any more of them as they seemed to disappear(found that they liked to jump out of the hole by my HOB filter as there were a lot of dried up carcarsas on the floor).

I am giving away my lizard and want some fish. I want easy-to-care-for fish but interesting ones. I found some sharks at Wall-Mart and like them a lot. I think they are called Balla Sharks they are Grey with dark black stripes on their body and their fins, and mouth are tipped black also. They get to about 8-9inches long I think. They are really interesting they are fresh water sharks they live in groups or that is how they are housed at wall-mart I am really wanting to get some I think my tank is big enough it is 15gallon wide and long and 30gallon tall. any help would be appreciated.
More likely bala's get to a foot long (about 30cm) or slighlty longer. How can your tank be 15 gallons wide and 30 gallons tall? I'm confused  How about some dimensions in either inches or cm, please.

edit---
measurements in length, width(front of tank to the back of tank), and height

Ok srry I haven't been on in a while but heres what I mean about 15 long wide and 30 tall Ok the length and width are the same size of a 15 gallon tank BUT it is as tall as a 30 gallon tank. I don't buy from walmart I just look for breeds there I go to my local pet store to get most my animals (they are really friendly and I trust them a whole lot I also sell rabbits to them) I have had some experiance with fish but mostly with like bluegill, red ear, minnows, goldfish and other common ones I just wanted some first hand advice thanks for helping or trying anyways!
