Hello, this is my first post on this site and the reason i joined is because i would like to put a carbon bag into my Boyu mt 50 tank, i am worried because when i rinsed the bag, the water turned black and i don't want this in the tank. Where do i put it?
The first compartment holds the black, heavy particle sponge
The second has another black sponge at the bottom with a white, fine filter sponge on top, then ceramic rings and bio balls.
I don't know where to place the carbon bag.
Thanks for the help in advance.

Carbon does best placed with mechanical filtration before it in the line of flow. If you can place it after the sponge or fine filter that might be the best place, although I'm unfamiliar with the specific filtration system you've got. The main thing is that the cleaner the carbon is kept from debris, the longer its useful life will be. If the carbon is really dusty even after washing, sometimes I find it useful to sandwich the carbon with mechanical filtration so that the water passes through fine floss again to trap any residual dust. It is very hard to avoid getting some carbon dust in the tank when the media is full of it. Washing is the best you can do but you might see some black wisps of dust still just after it's added; it's nothing to worry about and will disappear. If it bothers you, you might want to investigate some other brands of carbon. IME are much less dusty than others.
