Hello I Am Alphina Novastar

Hello I am Alphina NovaStar and I am new to these forums.  I have one 20 high livebearer tank with a platy pair and a sword tail pair.  I also have a 3 gallon betta tank.  I also have a fifty five gallon goldfish tank with six goldfish.   Is this the right forum for me?
 
 
Also is it normal for my swordtail male to chase my female platy?

Welcome c: I'd say this forum is great.
Swordtails and platies can interbreed, so he's probably attempting to mate.

Welcome! This is a great forum with a lot of knowledgeable members who can help in any situation!

I have platies and swordtails too, they're great fish and will definitely breed with each other. I would recommend getting a couple more females of each so that the males attention can be spread out amongst them giving the females a break so they aren't as harassed and stressed.

Maybe tomorrow I can buy two females as I will be near a pet shop then.  Platies or swordtails or one of each?

I'd go for platies, since a 20 gallon is a little bit small for swords.

I got some money today and saved ten dollars to use to get female platies.  I guess I will go for the platies as they are a bit cheaper so I can get maybe four or five female platies.

Good news bad and bad news.   Good news is I got two platies and a corydora.   Bad news is that I was in a bit of a rush as my ride was waiting for me.  I turns out one of the platies is a boy, but the other is a girl so the ratio is the same.

The corydora will need four or more companions, but otherwise, good luck with your tank
