I have been looking through the forms and there seems to be a lot of knowledgeable people on here that can help me to enjoy my aquarium even more.

I am from the north west of England and i own what i believe to be roughly a 100 liter fish tank (i am not 100% sure on the size as my tank is an unusual shape (kidney shaped) which i will show from pics)

The dimensions are 23.5" length, x 23" height x 12.5" depth (average)

I bought the fish tank second hand roughly 5 months ago and came "complete" with a Fluval 3 plus filter (howver i may upgrade this to a Fluval U4 but unsure yet), 150 watt heater and a oxygen pump.

I currently have the tank planted (not 100% sure which plants as i asked my local fish store for his advice and these are the ones that he suggested however i have forgot the names now)

I also have the tank stocked with:

4 x Neon tetras
4 x Silver tip tetras
4 x Neon Dwarf Rainbowfish
2 x Siamese algae eaters (i hope) (these are the newest addition to the tank which i got yesterday)
1 x Pearl Gourami

Here is my tank please let me know what you think:

Hi :) Lovely tank :D
Thankyou :)

I was also wondering from people's expert knowledge.

Do I have room for any more fish do you think or is this full stock?

Thanks

You could use a few bottom cleaners to keep food from rotting down there.   I like you're tank!

Hahaha Diddle - love the double entendre! lol
You could try 3 or 4 amano shrimp to help clean up the uneaten food that sinks to the bottom of the tank as Diddle suggested. They are very good at munching thro all the detritus and produce very little waste themselves so would not add to your bio-load too much

It's difficult to say without knowing the exact capacity, but we can work to the 100l that you've stated. The tank looks quite tall for it's base dimensions, which means that the capacity for oxygenation is relatively low, when compared with a 100l tank that is shallower. You have also got your substrate quite thick, and it looks like you've lost about 10-15% of your water capacity there.

Adding those two factors together, I would advise not to add any further fish.

Would the Siamese algae eaters not eat the food that sinks to the bottom of the tank?

I assume their main diet is algae, but they may well eat some of the rubbish at the bottom too. Was trying to suggest something that would add a bit of variety without adding to the bio-load.
Apologies if this font size is weird - it was teeny tiny when I wrote it and had to resize it so not sure what size it will appear on the post!

Haha it's fine. Yeah may look at getting 3-4 Amano shrimp then. Thanks for that :)

Is there anything near that you could suggest that wouldn't affect the bio-load to much instead of Amano shrimp?
