Heater Upgrade

What suggestions do people have for a heater upgrade for a Fluval Edge?

We had the standard fluval edge 25W heater but it packed in recently. We have replaced with a 50W Superfish combi heater and protector with a thermostat but it looks a bit too big in the tank and so wondered what suggestions people had for a compact 50W heater with thermostat.

A 25W Visitherm.

You should not get a more powerful heater because your tank is only 23 litres in volume. Heaters usually break by sticking in the "on" position, so if you had a 50W heater do that in a 23 litre tank, it would effectively boil the fish alive.

I have always found Visitherms and NeWatts most reliable.

Blimey thats awful ... I dont want that to happen and thanks for letting me know about that Kat. I will look those two up that you suggest. Any other suggestions?

I brought a mini heater online that is 25 watt and only 10cm total length. The only real shame is it is white but you can place it out the way and works really well.

Can't remember the name but it was from ebay for like £12 including postage
