Heater Question

So I Went Out And Bought A 29G Aquarium Kit But It Only Came With A 100 watt heater I know the 5w per gallon rule, and I was wondering if this would be sufficient or should I add my other 100W heater so that I have 2 and just run them at the half way point?

29 us gal is approx 100 liters (105ish), sorry i work in liters, you should be ok with 1 100watt heater unless your tank is somewhere cold.

If the 100W ever breaks, replace it with two 50W heaters. This way, if either of them ever fail in the stuck on or off position, there won't be a potential catastrophe. With a single full size heater, in the event it gets stuck on, it could overheat the tank or if it gets stuck off, the tank could cool down too much. If either of the two 50W heaters got stuck on, they would not have enough wattage to overheat the tank and you would have a better chance of noticing the light always on which would alert you to a potential problem.

Wow really shows how much I know. The light on the heater in my 10 Gallon tank never goes off it is only a 50w heater but my tank has never overheated
