Man, I was packing up my BRAND NEW. Only a week old fish tank up to take to the LFS to get holes drilled in it when I dropped one of the rocks and it had cracked the glass at the base.

Ohjoy, There goes 85 quid of brand new tank down the drain.

My LFS has said they'll call there supplier and try to say it came broken and get me a new tank for free. Failing that he's suggested a cheap clearseal tank that he'll kindly drill holes in for free.

So it's not all bad.... But you ever done something like that?

I had a quarantine tank that I had just emptied after setting up my big tank following my house move and was preparing to clean it, hoping to use it as a second tank.

I walked through the hall into the kitchen as the door swung gently towards me and the door handle clunked against the side, cracking it down the middle...

I had to throw it away rather than try and replace it as it was fairly old but I was still gutted!

in all my years, i have never cracked a tank,

i have seen a friends tank literally explode in front of my eyes because it was not properly supported on the stand,

you might want to price how much a new panel is, its not that hard to replace one on most tanks

He said no on the new panels as arcs are curved tanks and not square.

you'd be shocked as to some of the bull i've spouted with a straight face to aquire whats needed :)

I sure hope Mikey knocked on wood..or else he may have jinxed himself! lol I honestly hope I never do that. (knocks on wood) Hopefully, you get everything settled with a new tank. :(

Bloomin typical!!

Your fish store are brilliant though, not many would offer to do something like that!

Hope you get away with replacing the arcadia, it's a nice looking tank. It would look a bit suss with a crack in the centre looking like a rock impact lol, however if your lfs are good customers to the tank manufacturers, they may just replace anyway!

Good luck!

He was saying the guy where he gets the tanks from is really friendly so theres a good chance they may just send another. But I won't hear till monday.

At least I still got the stuff from the tank like heater, light etc.

Oh dear, that's terrible!

I've never cracked/smashed a tank but I once tried (and succeeded) carrying an empty 90L up some ladders into the loft. I nearly killed myself doing so but I managed. My mum decided to take it back down and take it to the tip a week or so later though.

No more randomly setting up my old 90L for me

once i lifted my 180 gallon tank from the floor and up onto the stand by myself cause i didnt want to wait another 2 days for a friend to help me, it weighs close to 500 pounds

You really are Hercules.

Owch!

With me, I knew if I didn't put it up in the loft then it would be out of the house before I could blink. I wanted it there "just in case".

She caught me out though and even though there was nothing wrong with it being up there (empty), it's still gone :(

She gave away a small, 30L tank I had to someone at the pub too!!
