Have I Overstocked

too many tanks that would be silly i rather reduce the fish then spend money on a new aquarium
Then that is what you'll have to do. You wanted to know how large of a tank you'd have to have in order to keep all of them...

I think you have gotten some very good advice from members.

To sum it up:
  • yes, overstocked.
To be successful you will need to:

  • get rid of some fish.
  • get a second tank for some of them.
  • get a larger tank that they will all fit in.

I see you didn't listen to people and decided to get a bunch of different loaches....and I see you decided on tetras and barbs rather than just one. Oh well, what's done is done, try rehoming a lot of them or getting another tank like already said...

Oh well i guess i will learn from my mistakes, i will get rid of the tetra and some barb and keep 5 tiger and 5 green tiger barbs

That's a good move for that size tank... 10 tigers (two different color morphs) will look very striking in a ~30 gallon tank.

I'm confused, you had a thread about stocking recently and I said this tank would be fully stocked with a good sized group of Tiger Barbs, to reduce the odds of aggression within the group.

So that the conversation can all be in one place I have merged the two threads. Everyone can have a look back and see what's already been discussed.

Indeed you did, as did some others.  He didn't listen at first, but appears now to have come to the conclusion that this is what's best for the fish.

like i said i have learnt to take your advice seriously for next time. thank you for your help

We all make mistakes when we're learning :) Overstocking is really easy to do, as the fish you buy are normally babies!
