Has Anyone's Tank Cracked With Fish Inside ?

trust me your more likely to get a puppy that "leaks" more than a tank as long as you make sure you pay attention to the out sides of the tanks and glass

you must be one with your tanks now i am off to watch 60 min

I must admit I have never had one leak like that Umpsfar. I have had a seam start to separate and leak on me though. It was on a 30 year old 60 gallon tank and started to leak one morning just as I was leaving for work. A quick partial drain below the water level let me go to work that day and deal with the tank when I got home at night. I don't think more than 2 or 3 gallons got onto the carpet before I got it stopped while that weightlifting approach probably spilled the whole 10 gallons.

any way, my tank has been making like, creaky noises sometimes when i pass it, but the only time water went out of it was when my spiky catfish swam near my hand and freaked me out. lol.

but is this a big warnig sign? if i try to find the soruce of the sound it sounds loudet near the filter.

thanks for making me worry!

the lagy and the peoples reactions is what made me laugh.

yes i have!
my sons had a fight in the hallway, and ended up cracking my first tank ( 4ft) i only realised when i asked one what they wanted the sellotape for

thankgoodness i saw him as i was just about to go to bed
i was sooooo mad with them, but fair play they stayed up all night with me sorting the fish, plants and water and replaced the tank

sellotape? LOL, they are so cute, that really brings smile on my face, thx.

Ohh your very welcome.. im glad that my misery, my lack of sleep and my instinct to kill both of them brought a smile to your face
its funny now though!
sellotape indeed!!
i hasten to add that they were 15 and 16 at the time so far from cute

My partner's Fishbox cracked all across the base from corner to corner (a fairly common occurance with these tanks so I've been I've been told) leeking water all over the kitchen. Luckily as i have a tank as well, we just re-homed the fish into my tank, but it could've been a nightmare otherwise.

My first tank leaked,
A 145 liter Aqua one.
I assembled the cabinet but when it came to putting the top on the cabinet i couldn't understand why the screws wouldn't sink in flush below the top, they where all sticking out a few mm's .
I gave up and put the tank on top , 4 weeks later it began to leak(typically when i was not home but the missus spend six hours with a towel mopping up.)
I rang the shop who replaced the entire thing for me,
when it came to putting the top on again, i realized that both sides of the top are identical but only one side has extra dept for countersunk screws. These of course are hidden behind the veneer and you don't notice that when putting it together.
