Has anybody heard of using stump remover before? I read that certain brands of stump remover sold at hardware stores are pure Potassium Nitrate, KNO3. As planted tank people know, this is a macro nutrient fertilizer, which at this point I need to get! Has anybody used stump remover in this way? Also I heard of a product called NoSalt or NuSalt, sold at supermarkets which is Potassium Chloride, KCl, which would be a way to add potassium to the tank, has anyone used this? Would the chlorine in KCl be harmful to fish?

Bonus Question - I also read in one place that Kuhli Loaches help eradicate small snails, is this true? I thought it was only Botia loaches. It seems like my kuhlis are though because My tank used to have snails, I killed the big ones, but they should have laid eggs before I killed them all becase it took a week to find them all. Would the Kuhli's have eaten the eggs and small baby snails?

Sorry, I know this should be in another section, but I'm going to the store tommorow, and I really need the answers quickly, Its pretty late at night right now too.

My kuhlis have been clearing up some (not all like my botias) of my snail population as well. They're definitely not big enough to eat the larger snails, but I've been noticing fewer and fewer snails in my tank since they were added.

Sorry, but not familiar enough with planted tank fertilizers to answer your main question.
