Just curious if so how'd that go.
My friend and I had a discussion cause he wants to get rid of his school of 12 neon tetra's for a school of 12 pygmy corycats because he enjoys watching corycats more then he does his neons.

I have no idea on how one would go about swapping out a school of one fish for another, His local aquarium says they'll take his neon's and give him a discount on the pygmy corycats if he gives the neons to them so he's actually really considering it just he doesn't know if it'll be safe on the fish or his bioload.

Any advice would be awesome since he's pretty torn on the decision.

People do it all the time. Doesn't make sense seeing how they occupy completely different parts of the tank though.

So it would be safe for him to do it all in one shot? That's what he's really curious about.
Also told him about this website he can't wait to join!

Should be ok as long as the bacteria is nice and established, more fish should not be added for a while to give the filter time to settle.
What size is the tank by the way?

Oh he has a 29g aquarium it has been set up for at least 2 years. Which I'm jealous about D:

Depending on the type of Gourami he could maybe have some neons as well as Cory's if he wants.
