Hi ,i`ve got 4 glowlight tetra,2 bronze corries ,and plan to have 2 shrimps and 4 neon tetras well, what has everyone else got ,and are there any problems?

Yup - started fishkeeping with a 28L tank and put 5 neon tetra in it, but I was advised it was too small for them, so I bought a tank twice the size and moved them.

I now keep a single male Betta in it, along with a half dozen Red Cherry shrimp, and this seems to be working absolutely fine. :)

I have a 35l tank. I know it's not 28 but close enough. I have some guppy's and some otto cats. I plan to get some cherry shrimp and some platy's or a shoal of tetras. My maximum fish capacity is 12.. My only problem are snails. Hope it helps and good luck.

This tank was bigger,

Platys get a little too big for a 35L

Im sure it's 28L or less when you take into account the decorations and gravel in the tank taking up space.

Well have decided to add 2 glowlight tetra to my existing 4 ,and 1 corry to my 2 as they grow to 8 cm ,maybe have 2 shrimp as well, what does everyone think also worried about having chunky gravel with my corries?

I used to have tanks that size and smaller, I kept Girardinus metallicus, Neoheterandria elegans and small fry in them.

What dimensions is it? 35*28*28 cm?

4 glowlight tetra - schooling and should have bigger tank
2 bronze corries - schooling and must have bigger tank
2 shrimps - ok
4 neon tetras - schooling

+1, the tank is also too small for Otos. The only tetras you should put in there are ember and ruby, where a shoal would be all of your 10-12 fish.

Yes, I have a 28l tank, which has become more of a hospital tank now (it used to house a single male betta for nearly 4 yrs till he died recently) - at the moment I've got a single female Short-Bodied Pink Convict in there (she's only about 2" but fully grown). Had to rescue her from the 2ft tank she shared with her male partner who was overly amorous towards her and almost stressed her to death - he had nipped off a lot of her fins, poor thing and was zooming around the tank chasing her constantly. Must have been doing that all day whilst I was at work.

I rescued her just in time! She's now doing well and enjoying her freedom I think! Fins are also starting to repair.

Aaaarghh!!!! Where to now,am stuck with 4 glowlight tetra and 2 catfish, what do i do then?

I had a 18x10x10 which is around the same water volume, which I used for my QT for a while. I sold it just before we moved though and now have a 24x12x12 QT. Kinda wish I hadn't though, as I would really like to have a shrimp only tank and that size would be perfect. Ah well. Maybe if I have the funds I'll get one of these instead! :hyper: Very small, interesting challenge! Nano nano here I come  :fun:

Did also have a 14x12x9 which was a betta home for a while, but he died and I didn't have the time for another tank so I sold it.

If you added 2 glowlights and 1 more cory that would be ok, but would be the smallest numbers you could have in their respective shoals really... and probably the most you could have in the tank.

Hi Coldcazzie ,what if i added an extra 2 glowlight tetra ,1 corrie and 2 shrimp ,would that be ok

Kitkat ,eventually i do want to get a bigger tank,a 48l,still small by comparison to all of yours ,but i`ve spent a fortune on setting this one up,so at the moment am sticking with this one.

You should be able to us all the equipment, heaters, filters and everything, plus all your decorations, gravel and what-not on a 48l; the actual tank is the cheapest part; it would cost you hardly anything to upgrade ;)
