You must have a fluval curse. The couple we have got have been fine (so far and crosses fingers).

My New Year started off crap too. I have colmunaris in my tank, but so far no fish is dead yet.

Well, that's surely not as bad as your new year, hope it gets better.

While all this was going on i lost track of how much water i was filling back into the tank i borrowed the water for the spare tank from and managed to over fill it and spill a huge ammount of water onto the carpet so now just about every square inch of the floor squelches as you walk on it and the house stinks of damp and fish water. As you can imagine i am very popular with my girlfriend right now.

Now I can't relate to fish puke but water on the carpet I know!

Try getting as much up as you can, and then drag out the bath towels. Spread them out on the carpet and keep walking over them and pressing down on them until no more water can be pulled out of the carpet and the pad underneath. Then crank up the heat and run your exhaust fans until the humidity drops. This works pretty well except for getting up the water that went directly underneath the tanks themselves.

I miss the hardwood floors in my old apartment!
