It has now been a year since I impulsively bought the "poor betta in a cup" at Wal-Mart. I came home from the store with literally just the fish and some food (the wrong kind), not even any dechlorinator! But "Big Red" is alive and well today, thanks to some good information and advice from this forum. He upgraded from the cup to a 1 gallon fishbowl; then to a 2.5 gallon filtered and heated "mini-bow" tank with plants and a rock tunnel. My husband calls him the $100 betta. lol
