I've got a handicapped African Glass Catfish. He is supposed to have 6 'whiskers', but instead he has five. The one that is missing is a main one, so he swims funny. He usually chills at the bottom of the tank and only swims around when the angelfish come over to him thinking he's dead or it's feeding time. He's healthy, though; I've had him about 4 months and he's doing fine. Sometimes I feel sorry for the little guy.

Do you have any handicapped fish? Deformed, injured forever, etc. that are healthy otherwise? I'd like to hear stories. :D

I got a rescue goldfish,His tails bent up and one side of his face looks like he's had a stroke and his gill on one side sticks out.My guess is really poor water quality and not a very good feeding regime. But he swims really good and has put load's of weight on,If i thought he was suffering i would put him to sleep but he's happy as larry.I also got a rescue red cap orianda who was going to be flushed down the toilet because his owner wanted a tropical tank.He since got bored and now got no tanks thank god.

this is my flying fox

he has a congenital spine defect

I have a runt male platy. His body is now growing longer (after a whole year of being baby-sized) but he is not filling out so his head and body looks like he's suffering from some ghastly disease- but he's been odd since he was born. He can't go in with the other platy boys, because they attack him, and he can't go in with the girls, because I don't feel he makes adequate breeding material somehow, so he is sharing with the peacock goby.

I used to have a female platy with a deformed spine, but lost her when the filter failed :(
