handfeeding my hillstream loach

On a whim I held some Formula 2 in front of one of my wild caught hillstream loaches and... he took it It was so exciting, I had to grab the cam He kept grabbing and ripping pieces off, he bumped my big pokey nail a few times

I HAVE to get me a hillstream loach. Are they community fish? They like fast flowing airated water right?

bunj~ yes they like fast flowing,cool water. Mine live with very unlikely tankmates,african cichlids. But they have corners where the water flow is extreme and they hang out there (and all over), my tank sits at about 78 so they're happy

Surprisingly enough,the cichlids don't even mess with them. The loaches really like to fight with each other sometimes though It's funny to watch them, I can't tell if they're attacking each other or cleaning each other

wow i cant get any of my smaller fish to feed of of my hand but i love to hand feed my oscars. lol.

lol oscars are so fun to play with. They are easy to train too.

PS- put a table tennis ball in your oscar tank if its not too big.

Trust me, for gals like me and wuv who have our hands in betta tanks many times a day... fingernail polish just doesn't stay nice long.


Edit: Wow, lol, sorry Kelly, completely forgot to say how awesome that pic is. Never heard of a loach who'll come to the surface for food. Soo coooool!
