Guppys

So, in my Fluval 125L i have ;

2 Angel fish,
2 Synodontis Catfish,
4 Guppys,
2 Rummy-nose,
2 Kuhli Loaches,
4 Tiger Barbs,
1 Oto Catfish,
1 pleco

Today i came home to find a dead Guppy

, i really dont know who is doing it. i have lost 2 other guppys and 2 rummys in the same way, hardly any fins left at all ? The Tiger barbs hide behind a plant and have been rarely coming out ? I think it is most likely them but am not 100% sure

? 2 of my guppys keep going to the bottom corner almost "scouring" the floor? I have been wanting to get more fish but am worried they might end up the same way :L ? What shall i do ??? Shall i get rid of my Tiger barbs this weekend and more Guppys or something? please give me some tips/advise on what to do here Please.
So really i need answers to :
Who is the most likely one to kill my fish?
About the Tigers?
Guppys to the bottom of the floor?
More fish Statement?
And most of all, What to do???

What are your water stats?
Could you be overstocked?
Im only a newbie, so can't really answer questions, but i can look on unbiased!!
Could your angels be bullying your smaller fish, they can tend to be nasty b@ggers!!

Hi Jack.

Could be a possible attack from another fish (suspects, Angel's or Tiger Barbs) or... A presence of Ammonia in your tank, affecting the Guppy's first. First thing i'd do is an emergency water change of lets say 50% for now. Next, i'd get your water tested, API master kit? Your LFS may be able to provide results for you, but it's always good to have your own kit!

How long has the tank been set up with fish in for?

Some of your stocking is not quite suitable with each other/for the tank. Firstly, your Angels can be quite aggresive with one another/with tank mates in a tank that size. They need not only a long tank for space but a high tank to accomodate their potential size of 6inches+ (hieght)
Secondly, your Tetra's, Kuhli's & Oto need to be in groups/bigger groups(5/6 at least)
Your Tiger Barbs could upset the balance of your tank, so consider rehoming these.
Any Idea on the species of Syno's and Pleco?

As kporteo said, we could really do with your water stats. That is, Ammonia, Nitrites, Nitrates and pH.

Also I think you might be a bit overstocked, and at the same time you don't have ideal numbers of some of the fish...

I know you've suffered a few losses but I wouldn't be keeping ANY of these fish in less than groups of 6 of their own kind. Obviously you don't have room to add more. But you may want to consider re-homing some fish to up their numbers. It's much nicer to see more natural behaviours from fish which you do tend to see when they're kept in slightly more 'natural' conditions.

Also do you know the type of synos you have? Some of these guys are known for eating fish once they grow up. They wont be the cause of your problems at the moment though I wouldn't have thought

Do you know the type of pleco you have?

Overall having read your post I suspect there is something up with the water stats and that is causing the strange behaviour and losses. But without the results I can't make a proper guess.

hello,

To start with, i have done a water change and all stats are fine, i have just a normal/orignal/common pleco and i am will look up my catfish. I have been afraid of adding more fish (rummys and kuhli) just incase they die aswell. I think the best option here is to return my Tiger babrs, Agree ??

Returning the barbs would be a good idea. However I also suggest re-homing the pleco. It'll grow to big for your tank anyways. Perhaps consider replacing it with a bristlenose pleco? Or just up the numbers of other fish?

I wouldn't add any new fish just let, give it a week or two to see if you've fixed the problem. But after that, upping the number of kuhlis and rummynose would definitely be a good idea.

okay, thankyou for the help, much appreciated, The man in my LFS said its a small one and will grow a maximum of 4"-5", i will most deffinatly up my fish as soon as i can
