My guppy recently gave birth and I read somewhere that they might have a spine problem after the birth and I'm afraid that she might have that. She's swimming vertically and just can't seem to stay horizontal. :/

Does anyone know what could be wrong and how I can help her?

Thanks.

hi there - sorry to hear about your guppy. Sometimes the females do have problems after giving birth. I've lost a few after they have given birth. imo all you can do is make sure they are in clean water with small frequent w/changes (i.e no ammonia/nitrites, low nitrate) feed a nutritious diet (I feed brine shrimp, bloodworms, daphnia etc), and as stress free as poss (no male in the tank) if I have a weak female I also add a small amount of salt (about 1/4 tsp per gall) to the water I am changing in the tank - a lot of them do recover with the tlc but sadly a few don't.

good luck

Sorry to hear about that. Yes, I've had quite a few guppy girls die after like their third litter. It's so much stress that I think the momma has to be in good condition with adequate food.
Not much you can do, except look for remedies for swim bladder problems.
Not like guppies are endangered :)
How are the babies??? cute, huh?
