Guppy Is Acting Very Odd.

I also wouldn't really understand what could possibly be making her stressed? This behavior has only started four days ago, but she has been in this tank for 2+ weeks? Any idea's This Old Spouse?

So over the course of the four days or so, she has gone from:

*Not eating
*Then hiding behind the filter for quite some time. Not eating.
*Hiding behind the filter, heater, and assortment of plants. Not eating.
*Now staying solitary very low in the tank (floor of the tank). Not eating.

But, what relieved me is that I see her later through the day eating old flakes off the floor, one flake at the most though in a entire day. Of course by old flakes I mean what was fed maybe 4-5 hours ago.

Is this her first trip down Maternity Row? Maybe she's having a problem dropping. I really don't know.

I wonder if OldMan47 has any ideas?

We could still use a photo or three.

Yes its her first time, maybe thats why? I could take a lot more pictures in about an hour, as soon as my camera is done charging. It was kind of difficult to take pictures of her because lately she has seemed more jumpy when she sees me coming towards the tank. I would love some insight from OldMan47 as well. I was hoping to get one from oldman.

But I will surely post as many clear pictures as I can when I get the chance today. And hopefully get a reply from you and OldMan. But one more thing, I noticed her behavior didn't start until I installed her heater, this couldn't be the problem right? The temp in the tank is currently and has been, 78 degrees. Neither does it over heat, it shuts off automatically if the temperature rises about 78-79 degrees.

From the photos, does she look a bit bigger?

Sorry I havent been able to get any pictures lately. Been awfully busy. But, I have noticed when she sits in the corner of the tank her tail hangs low as if she is heavy. And I believe she does look a bit bigger (i think so). Im hoping she will be dropping sometime soon!

She is getting close to a drop, based on her shape, but the behavior you have been describing is not something I would expect merely from a female being close to a drop.

I feel like it has been too long for her to not drop? Sorry I haven't been able to monitor her for about 2-3 days because of my finals. But she still seems to not want to eat much, still spitting it up. What do you think could be the problem?

I noticed in the last two days, she has started to eat her food. Although eat and spit it eat and spit out and eventually just stop. But she does manage to eat a couple of the flakes. So Im guessing that is at least some form of a better behavior. But man has she grown in size. This time I can tell for sure she has gotten much bigger and is definitely starting to square off.

I really wish I could take pictures to update! Im really looking forward to her dropping sometime soon!

I have been able to get a picture of her, but only two. She doesn't seem very camera friendly today lol. Tried my best, but i can see she has gotten larger. It has now been four weeks. Can anyone give me some opinions on whether she looks much larger? (To me she very much does.)

She is definitely quite large in these pictures.

Yes, she has definitely gotten quite large! Im kind of taking it in a good way, because since she has been acting odd I was thinking she was ready to drop but wont. But since she has gotten bigger im guessing she was never ready to drop then she was still growing in size. Does that sound a bout right? So im hoping to expect fry soon since it is now almost a month of her growing in size.

I will update on how she is doing:)) Hopefully I'm doing a good job so far, and the outcome is great!

P.S. How many fry do you think she may have? I know you can never get an exact count of course but any guesses?

good luck! Ive been waiting on 2 plattys who looked big to me a couple weeks back, and they just keep getting bigger! but with these two, i dont really want fry to survive! :( too many already!

I know, as much as I would hate to see them eaten by their own mother, I know reproduce very quickly. And im sure they will reproduce more quickly then I can handle! Thanks:) Im hoping for her to drop in the next 3-4 days. It's been 4 weeks and 2 days! Lol she just continues to grow in size but no drop yet.

Here is an updated picture of her right now. Dont mind all the white stuff it was tank glue that my boyfriend didn't apply very neatly lol.
