Hi just needed a bit of help really.
Did a water change last night about 10% and cleaned out filters. put aquasafe in water and today one of my male guppies is sitting at the surface of the water doing hardly anything. it doesnt want to feed where as usually it is quite active.
What could this be??
did a water test this morning and everything was ok
nitrates 15mg/l
ammonia 0.1mg/l
ph 7.5
nitrite 0mg/l
Any help apreciated

At 0.1 ppm of ammonia, everything about the water is not fine. Do a good sized water change using your Aquasafe and be careful about how you clean the filters. You don't say but if you threw away any of the filter media or cleaned it under tap water, you may have reduced the biological filter in the tank. It should recover in a few days but in the meanwhile try to keep your ammonia at zero (none detectable) by doing water changes.

I cleaned my filters out by rinsing them in tank water. did not throw away any media.
How often does everyone clean their filters and does that include everything in the filters??
Thanks

Mine get cleaned when they start to restrict water flow. When I clean my filters, I just rinse out the media in a bucket of old tank water but I thoroughly scrub the impeller well and the tubing that I can reach.
The media is treated gently as a place holding my biological filter but the impeller and its well are the thing that has close tolerances and must operate smoothly to move water through the media. Hoses can make a nasty mess in the tank when you restart the filter if you don't at least lightly clean the return hose each time.
