What's new

Guppy died last nigh

I'm doing a very large water change on my aquarium so I dont have to worry about it when I cant take care of it for a few days here

Water changes, done correctly, never hurt.
Right just done 30% so hopefully all ok. Should I feed them if they're due tonight or leave until tomorrow? Also when to test water ?

Feed on schedule, check params in 24 hours

Not good just noticed 1 has a white growth on 1 side fin and hes not moving it, can get a decent pic but here's best I got, cant catch him still enough

Ok thanks for the advice, I know it's not Ich, seems some sort of fungus

Yeah , sometimes fish just die for no reason. It's a drag. Sometimes there doesn't even seem to be a reason . Just one of those things but it is a drag.

Some better pics

So I found a reputable local independent guy who sells fish and hes looked at pics and said it's a bacterial infection most likely secondary to a wound the fish had.
Pets at home (awful chain store) told me it was fin rot and tried selling me the meds for it, I declined but bought and put some salt in and will do some big water changes and lots of cleaning and more salt.
Local guy said if persists still he has the correct medication that turns the water blue/green apparently, cant remember name of it.
Probably will lose this guppy but hopefully save the rest 🤔
