Guppy Breeding Program

I am thinking of starting a Guppy Stud so to speak haha I have owned fish for 7 years and am quite experienced with breeding and care of fry. I was wondering, as males always pester the females constantly! Would it be better to get more females than males? I was thinking of getting 1 male and 2 females? Thanks

Yes. Livebearers should always be kept with a minimum ratio of two females to one male, but of course you can have even more females to each male if you want

One slight word of warning; do make sure you can get rid of the fry before you start. Home bred guppies can be very, very difficult to get rid of

Thank you Yes, my local fish shop swaps them for store credit, so they have a definite home x

I find it helps if the females are all of a similar size as my males will pester the fattest and longest female and nearly ignore the others.
