Guppy Breeding Diary

there are no age restrctions on joing the forum hence the reason to keep it family freindly :)
lovely pics of the fry, good luck for the future :)

Dividers are a good idea, but be prepared for some squabbling between the males. :)

I seperate my males and females as soon as a male is identifiable I move it over to my 8 gallon, I know that it will be October time before my females are completely purged from my original male endler that fertilised them. Then I can start crossing back in the first generation for second generations. This is an old pic but this is how my tanks are setup:

Oh no! I woke up this morning to find that all of the male guppys tails look quite tatty & ragged. It looks like they have been nibbling each other and my tuxedo guppy is on the substrate with the worst tail. Can melafix help nibbled tails?

just have to say..your diary is making me want to try again with guppys! but everytime i buy them they seem to die! i keep so many different fish with no problems..yet the guppys always die....why i ask myself???

God hates you

Also, I nearly missed a baby guppy fry hiding in the plants of the adult tank, so I move him, then I found another fry! I reckon a female dropped her batch and then they were all eate

Natural life cycle who cares if a couple get eaten they added to the growth and strength of other fish.
