fry is babies...
Guppys, swordtails, mollies, platys, etc all give birth to fry (babies) every 4-6 weeks, and females can hold sperm packets for up to 6 months and continue to give fry during these months without having a male present.
Depending on your other fish, fry do tend to get eaten but some (depending on how many places is to hide like plants etc) will survive.
