I recently adopted a tank with a 5 inch African Leaf Fish, 9 inch Pleco, pretty good size Dwarf Gourami and a what I believe is 4 to 5 inch Fire Eel (haven't seen a lot of him - lol).

For most of this week I've been feeding them freeze dried foods, which they have been readily accepting. Last night, I was tossing a frozen cube of blood worms in for my dwarf puffer and flounder and I thought it would be a nice treat for the new tank. So, I tossed a cube into the tank and it began to slowly fall apart. A few blood worms had fallen off when the African Leaf Fish decieded to tanke a bite of the mass and hold onto it tight. I figured he would drop it soon, but then suddenly he pulled the funnel vaccum trick (of which I had only read about, not yet witnessed) and the whole block was gone. I suppose it was rather cold so he spit it out after a moment, but then a few seconds later he sucked it in AGAIN! This time, the whole block remained consumed. Being how cold the block was AND how large it seemed I was worried he might have hurt himself. I watched him for a while, but he seemed fine. This morning he was still swimming around happily.

Now, I've heard of greedy fish, but I suppose I didn't realieze what I had gotten into when I adopted this guy!

Aren't fish amazing :) Reminds me of the first time I saw my rainbows displaying a breeding stripe. I just couldn't believe how fast the color changed.
