Hello, I was very depressed when i looked into my tank this morning without the light on and the aquarium water had a greenish tint to it. I did a 25% water change yesterday. What did i do wrong? How do i fix it? The light is on a timer to go on at 10:00 Am and go off at 9:00 Pm

i would try lessening the amount of time your lights are on, 11 hrs is a long time

thx. also i put in some tetra easy balance and its green liquid so i will lower the time my light is on and if it doesn't work i will not put in the easy balance next time. thx

Hi :)

Why is it you are adding the "easy balance" in the 1st place? What size is the tank and what filter are you using?

And good advice on the lighting. I have mine set on a timer, they are on for 6 hours a day and I have no problems. They used to be set for 8 hours a day but I started to get algae growing in the tank.

Also I would up the amount of water you change from 25% to 40-50%. I do 50% weekly. I have a Flowerhorn that around 3 - 3 1/2 inches in my 125gal tank.
