tank water keeps turning green. have had water tested its ok filter ok tank is completly cleared of stones and ornaments only 3 fish left cleaned tank out fully and it started going green within 2 days can anyone help please

what you have is green water aka free-floating algae. the most effective way to get rid of it is to use a diatom filter or uv sterilizer (i use a uv sterilizer). feeding less and gravel vac'ing more often help also.

turn the lights off for a couple of days and do big water changes each day for a week. If that doesn't work then use an algicide and then do some big water changes and gravel cleans to remove the dead algae and algicide.

Well if sunlight is hitting ur tank directly it could be a cause of green water. It can also be if ur keeping u light way to long on for your tank.

This has happend to me. Green Algae?
Its either overfeeding, (I think) or too much direct sunlight.

Cover your tank walls for two days or more, and then do a really big water change. My tank is still a little green, and I'm still trying my best to get rid of it. :)

Two natural methods of getting rid of green water:

Buy a clam, should clear it up in a few days, then bring it back to the store.
Keep daphnia in a breeding net, they should clear it out quickly as well. Plus you can feed them to the fish!

You should find out why you have the green water in the first place, however.
