She has laid eggs, a few have turned white.. but im actually watchin her now and she seems to be sucking up gravel from just under where she has laid the eggs and spitting it away from there. almost like digggin a trench.??? anyone seen this before???

im pretty sure green terros are cichlids right? and if thats true im pretty sure they are mouth brooders too. here is a link that might be able to help you.

The eggs that are white are indeed not fertile and she will probably eat them, those that are fertile will be a creamy colour and will slowly turn to more of a beige like appearance, they will most likely hatch in around 72 hours. She is likely digging a pit in which she will move the eggs to before they hatch in order to keep them safe.

GT's are not mouthbrooding cichlids.

Not sure why you believe you are being ignored, sometimes it takes a while before someone comes to the board with an answer to your question.

green terros are not mouth brooders they lay eggs, as in a previous post of mine there is a picture,,, thank you for the reply, well i was only say that due to the fact the last 3 topics over the lst week no one has replied too and i have needed a reply, but thank you anyways.. looking forward to the fry =)

Agreed with minx, if this is the first or second batch she might still not to know what to do, digging numerous pits is very usual,once eggs hatch they will more than likely move the batch to another place, then again once free swimming,this is where the pits come into effect,if feel freaten they will head to the pits,much like trenchs on the frontline, once free swimming feed fresh hatched brine shrimp<micro worms>dried brineshrimp eggs on ebay couple of quid,lasts the whole time from start to finish,great stuff :good:

will the fry eat frozen blood worms? or do i definately need brine shrimp?? i might just have a look around the lfs for them instead of off ebay... Thanks for the help
