Green Barb Dead, Ph Crashed To 6.0

I have no idea why the pH crashed. Today was the first low reading since tank was started in March. I don't test for hardness but the Dallas Water District claims our water is in the moderate range of 80-100ppm.

Do you see any unusual behavior in any of the other fish?

Added any chemicals?
How long has your tank been cycled?
What are the stats if your tap water?
Added any new wood or stones to the tank?
What's your substrate?
What is your current stocking level?
Running temperature of your tank?

Just a few questions ! sorry for your loss it's always hard, also remember that sometimes it's just down to the breeding of the species, it's possible to get a ' bad batch' that are weaker and more prone to illness than others .

No, they're all good so far including 1 Green Barb. The two Green patients are still alive in the hospital tank. Not perfect, but not at death's door.

Honestly, it's not the pH; tiger barbs are very, very hardy fish; pH is extremely unlikely to affect them. I think they're being injured by the other fish; tigers are very rough with each other; I have 20 and I still have females that lose their tails almost completely at spawning time.

To address one of Gelt's questions, this tank has been cycle since around March. He posted his stats on this: 0 NH3, 0NO2.

Update: All fish in main tank appear fine. Both Greens moved to hospital tank appear to have recovered! (hospital tank's filter had been seasoning in one of my Eheim's for 3 weeks so I'm not sure it's completely ready) fluttermoth's genius stock has risen.(Thanks again!)

Going to reintroduce patients to main tank and observe like a hawk!

Everything appears to have settled down for now. I refuse to call it "normal" because I don't think such a state exists for my tank yet. I don't know if the tank has to mature some more or what. All I know is I lost a Green Barb this time around. That makes a total of 3 fish lost since 7/10/11. The 2 Green Barbs that appeared to be at death's door, but after an overnight stay in a hospital tank (with a filter that was in 1 of my Eheim's for only 3 weeks) have somehow recovered. This Old Spouse's signature of "Fishkeeping ain't for sissies" is a spot on accurate statement. Whoever started the statement of "Watching a fish tank is relaxing and lowers blood pressure" must have been watching somebody else's fish tank that was being taken care of by professionals (like in a doctor's office)!
