Found a 3 gallon critter keeper (pink-oh well) and a 5 gallon hex plexiglass aquarium for only 1.00 each. The 5 gallon is aprox. 17" long, 9" wide and 8 1/2" deep--it came with an undergravel filter, small pump and a few decor--the top is black and is siliconed on, kind of hard to clean but I'm sure I'll suffer through it. Can this top be removed or would it be adviseable to leave it on--it has a large cut-out in the center where a light fit on top, and cutouts in back for filter and tubing. I want to divide both up so they would house 2 bettas each, got some small 10 watt filters that I got from some of the 1 gallon tanks that were on sale at PETCO so I thought it'd be nice to possibley set up the 5 gallon and possibley the 3 gallon so as not to have to change out 100%. Any help would be appreciated in this matter, thanks.
