I bought two dwarf gouramis yesterday and i am unsure on the sex of both. I know that a male has a pointed dorsal fin and the female is more rounded. Now my one dwarf gourami has what appears to be a rounded tail and i think it could be female and is quite colourful, and my other dwarf has a more pointed tail but is not as colourful. Very confused :S

P.S. - Here are some pictures:

Females are going to be MUCH duller than the males.Colours of females aren't as visible as males.Males are usually a bit smaller than the female, and are slimmer in overall girth. Females have a rounded belly compared to the males. However, the dorsal (top) fin is the most distinctive difference that can be seen between males and females. The dorsal fin of the female is short and rounded, while the male has a longer dorsal that comes to a point. hope this helps :good:
