Gouramis Help Asap

Hi my male dwarf gouramis is acting very strange he is floating a lot going on his side, not caring about the female nipping at him. He is swimming feom time to time but not been the normal self for about 5 hours.
His eyes also look very black all round. Im guessing he is dying but as i live him so much i dont want to get rid to early.
Any advise is welcome
