Hi, can you post pictures of your gourami please and name please and if possible how hard they are to keep, im tempted with powder blue dwarfs but i heard pearl's are VERY nice when older,
so what do you have?

Sorry I'm not posting a pic(due to not having the right camera) but to answer your other question I would go with pearls if your looking for color. At first when there adapting like any other fish they'll be dull but after a week or so they are dazzling and when males get older they get fin rays which make the fish even more attracting. Also in my experience Mine have tamed very quick and are hand fed. But theres so many choices of gouramis just read mostly on temperment and health but besides that its up to you!

I would agree that pearl gourami are really nice in colour when they get older. THey have really nice colouring under the right light.

Clau'D is a Gold gourami which are very neat looking too. That was what the lf's gave me at first but mine got very aggresive towards eachother and then got some pop-eye for unknown reason so I took mine back and got what I wanted first "PEARLS"!, but golds are nice looking fish and the red eye is normal. another fact on these fish is they are not found in the wild and are ethier close species or an opaline gourami with gold coloring.

But seriously, I am thinking of getting a couple of pearls once my tank has cycled and I can start stocking. How big will they get?

Yep i also need to know this, do they liiek to be 1m-1f and same with golds also are can i have 4 gouramis, 1 pair pearls and 1 pari opf golds?

Well actually in these species its bitter to have a trio of 1 male and 2 female to take out there mental alpha nature or in other words its better to have a couple of females so the male will take out only a little aggresion towards all of them so they don't get stressed. Also both these species only get around 4 inchs but I would prefer pearls to golds since they are way more peacful and I also would'nt recommend having both in the same tank cause the gold's would most likly bully the pearls, but you could get blue and golds or somthing with a semi-aggresive nature, anyway its up to you I like the pearls best cause of great color, attitude, compatiblity, and hardiness.

Yeah pearls and 3-spots grow to be about 4-5 inches, and like above, is best suited in a trio 1m 2f. Also, they are territorial and may create their own little area. Make sure you have hiding places or a few plants incase one or the other gets too much stress from being chased.

Some pics of a gold that I came across in a really nice fish store. He charmed me right away , all the fish from this store are so friendly even the tetras. But alas I could take him home with me

The pics don't do him justice. If I had a 2nd chance I would of brought him home. I didn't know exactly what he was when I was taking the pics, which is why I didn't take him. I called the store back 2 days later after I had done some research, but alas someone had bought him . I've never seen another one with such pretty markings.

The sparklers are cute, but somewhat shy. They will come right up to the glass, but sudden movements or loud nosies make them hide really easily. Hes in a planted tank and he blends in really well. It sometimes takes me a few minuets to find him, when I do he's normally right in front of me staring back. There are a few clips of him in the planted tank video in my sig.
