I bought 4 guppies last night, a male and three females...
I had been planning on buying a Gourami too but the info the sales rep gave me suggested that would be bad, he said that the Gourami will grow to 4.5 in. or so and that it would eat the Guppies if given the chance.
I was just wondering if he was accurate in any of this information. I've never had a Gourami so I was inclined to believe him..

The description was simply 'Gold Gourami' :/ So I'm not really sure if thats helpful

My girlfriend has happily kept guppys and "dwarf gourami's" but they are in a rather heavily planted tank. I would probably not suggest it to be honest as chances are the guppys will try and nip at the gourami.

Although imo with only 1 male guppy, I think he would be pre-occupied keeping the females happy and if your gouramis were in a similar m/f ratio then I beleive they would get along fine.

There a lots of dwarf varieties of gourami out there that are beautiful so have a look and see what you think.
