Gotta Stop Browsing Discus Dealers

been looking a discus dealers site and seen some lush white diamonds. ive been trying to fight the urge to sell my group on and get some different strains and seeing these aint exactly helping!!!

I am lucky, I really cannot fit in any more fish, however I have had a phonecall tonight from someone asking me to sell my texas, now if they went I would have virtually a whole tank free

I like the yellow, the white just looks odd to me, but I am not into discus, but I can see what you mean sooooooooo tempting. But you couldnt get rid of you blue one thats really nice.

true he has grown out real nice , and he is 1 of the things stopping me , but i will probably cave in sooner or later lol

I like the ones you have now. The solid white and gold are pretty and clean looking but boring IMO. But I know what you mean I'm always looking at differant fish that these importers get in. But I really only want this one kind of discus the red spot green Like this

if i did that id have to quarentine the new arrivals which would all have to be big as my cobalt is a big boy now , and im not set up for that so it would have to be sell all of em or none of em .

The yellows one boring looking and the white one looks dreadful!! in my opinion of course!!!

that pic of the yellow crystal isnt really very good , they get lovely white markings around their faces . the white 1 i dont know what it is but something about it just makes me want it , maybe those pure white eyes and the way it looks so "clean" im thinking how nice it could be if it grew out nicely into a big ole chunk.

this is the trouble im finding with discus , there are so many strains i keep seeing that i want . plus now my tank is laid out more simply , i have much more room and want a bigger group. and as i said before they would need to be quarentined before i could add them to this group , plus i would have to get big fish ( my biggest 2 are getting near 7 inches now) so it would be a lot more expensive . for example the size my cobalt is now , and with him being a nice fish would probably cost me about 60 to 70 quid on his own to buy .
so to buy 4 fish at that kind of price , plus a tank to QT them in , along with the risk of all out war when i added them to my group , the best route to go would be to sell mine and get a group of say 10 smaller ones and grow them out like i did with these.

so the plan is at the moment ( but saying that you know how plans change ) i will stick with these for now. then in april when i do my tax return again and get my rebate , sell these guys for say £200 to £250 ( 6 large discus thats a good price) put £500 with the money from that , get the nice 3d amazon root background i want then go and get 10 discus and then that will be it.....it really will (honest!) well at least for a while anyway
