Yep, the top one is an anubias; I don't recognise the exact species (lovely plant though!) and the bottom one is Java fern.

thanks for that , that's the largest of 3 seperate anubias , is there anyway in which to take cutting as such ? and do you know if they have to be attached staright away to bogwood ?

thanks again

That's a cracking piece of Anubais you have there, what a great find. I think you can propagate it by cutting a piece off the rhizome using a very sharp knife so that you get a good clean cut.

The rhizome is the bit that the leaves and roots come from. Please don't tell me you are planning on hacking up that stunning plant

no no not until i least know what the hell i'm doing lol , do i need to bury the root's ? 2 of the peices are firmly attached to pieces of bogwood but there's 2 other smaller parts that aren't attached to anything have them floating in a bag with water as i don't want them beign sucked up by my powerhead lol

Anubias, I believe, can't live being planted in the substrate as they need water and nutrients going over their rhizome at all times. Java ferns I know are like this and I'm pretty sure about the anubias.

That's a wonderful looking anubias right there! Contrary to popular belief, you CAN bury the rhizome but it will slow the plant's growth drastically for a while until it adjusts. It shouldn't melt if buried and I tried as an experiment; rather than growing along something like a creeper plant, it grows taller like a bush :)
