Hi,

I was just wondering, what do you guys reckon is a good price for LR?

My LFS only sells FW.
The next one down the line, didnt understand what I meant by cured and uncured. Plus it seemed like he wasnt selling by weight, only size and shape.

There is one I know for def that sells LR, but seems a little pricey at £13.95 per kg. Ebay starting to look like an option for me.

What does LR norm go for? any difference in price for cured and uncured?

get your live rock at a local reef club, much cheaper and probably even better.

Prices near me range from £9 to £14.95 per kilo.

£13.95 is certain;yl not the most expensive you will ever see it. remember that if you go through ebay you will have postage costs that will all but wipe out any saving, unless you buy a whole box of LR.

local reef club? how do i find one?
or do you happen to know of any in London?

BTW Unseen is Zeo. I didnt realise who's account I was posting under.

it depends how much you want, most places like us do single kilos at £10.00 a kilo sliding down to £8.50 per kilo for 20+ kilo's

i have payed £11 per kilo but now my LFS prices has increased to £13.95 too. By any chance is it a maidenhead?

i dont know any near london, all i know is that i saved 80 dollars (im in america, titles that say im not allowed just attracts me faster, sorry lol) on my live rock from buying at a local reef club. 27 pounds for 81 dollars at my local reef club (3 dollars a pound) 6 dollars a pound at my lfs. And the 3 dollars a pound was even better quality, what would you chose? :)

look for pople on forums closing down their tanks i have seen lots going for £6 a KG and £10 delivery so for 10KG it would be £70 delivered to your door. Take advantage of other giving the hobby up

didnt see the blimin quote thing still on

London

Can i persuade anyone into giving up? :p

My liverock arrived today, looks pretty good, hopefully full of critters. Shame I had to go to work, but I'll take some pics tonight.

I ordered 5kg from www.live-rock.co.uk. Ordered Wednesday afternoon (18/07/2007), arrived Friday (20/07/2007 this morning!!).
Extreamly helpful, and good status updates in between the order.

Great thing was it was only 5kg for £49.00 INCLUDING DELIVERY!!!

I have to admit I was a little worried at first, ordering LR online. But now I'm really happy I went with my gut. Price wise there great, well packaged aswell, and really good quality (althru I've never kept LR, i did see some stuff moving round which is a good thing?) includes deliv and taxes (VAT?). I read on a few forums that you can ask the guy for certain shapes, sizes and he will do he's best to get them out to you.
The only thing I asked was when was the soonest he could get them out to me. 2 hours later had an email saying friday. BTW they do have a telephone number aswell.

I will def order again from them. Give em a look if you get a chance. Its a shame that there website isnt the most helpful to navigate thru.

I will try and get some photos up tonight for you guys to see. But I def think its one of the cheapest online.

what do you guys think of this site? £49 for 5kg of LR cured (free shipping i think)
I got mine there and its excellent, quick delivery etc, good quality, and more strange hitchikers than you poke a large stick it, Plus with free next day post its the cheapest about and they also do live rubble too for filters/sumps... Just the job!
