Well... finally got some improvements happening in my female/fry guppy tank... hoping to reach a point where its safe to add new inhabitants, as unfortunately the plague has been unkind and I've lost about 50 guppies. I've also decided to take this opportunity to wean the remaining 10 off the salt. Anyhow... once everything has returned to health (not sure when that will be), I intend to get a few different fish (which should be easier without the salt!)

What do you think of these for companions for my female guppies and fry (no worries on fry eating as I can segregate them as needed)...

- 4 or 5 neon tetras (is that a good number for them?)
- 2-3 female platies

When the time comes, I intend to add them to my tank one group each week so my tank adjusts (since it only got 10 juvenile guppies in the entire 3 foot tank!).

Is this a good plan? What are your experience with these fish together? So far, reading around the internet and forums everything sounds good.
