Can goldfish go in the same tank as guppies?

As a simple answer..
No.
Goldfish are Coldwater fish.
Guppies ae Tropica fish (they need a heater).

Goldfish shouldn't really be kept at tropical temperatures long term, and guppies shouldn't be kept at normal house temperatures. However if you picked a temperature around 20C then yes they could live together but this wouldn't be ideal for either fish.

As for compatability, you should never have any aggression issues between the two.

I personally wouldn't do it and would suggest you don't, but it is definitely do-able.

If you are wanting fancy goldfish in a tank then bear in mind you should allow around 20gal for the first goldfish and 10gal for each additional one after.
Ie. for two fancy goldfish and some guppies you'd be looking at a 30gal (120l tank).

For common goldfish I would suggest you don't even bother putting them into a tank, they grow too big and are too active really to justify being put in an indoor tank for anything more than overwintering or if the tank is being used to grow them to a suitable size to go in a pond. Long term unless you want to put aside a 6fter for them then it's not very good for the fish.

you could keep them with white cloud mountain minnows and barbs if you wanted a bit of variation in the tank
