Golden Nugget Pleco L18 + Zebra Fish

Just starting to notice my L18 is sort of fading in the yellow sections of its body, its not huge only about 3" so i dont think its an adult obviously.
Was wondering if the food change from a different variety of algae wafer could be the reason?

Also have two beautiful zebra fish with great yellow and black colourings, always been active fish(and still are) but noticed recently they are sometimes staying stationary but swimming upside down along with appearing to breath faster. There is no issue with oxygen which i thought it could have been primarily.

do you mean zebra Danios?
gold nuggets are meat eaters that need high protein foods supplemented with veggies, they are not Algae Eaters

what are the water stats?
how long has the tank been set up for?

how long has the tank been set up for?

erm my bad, meant zebra loach... slip of the mind there.
fair enough about the meat, any recommended. would frozen tropical fish pellets suffice as they contain various bits and bobs.

water stats erm recently checked
20 - 30mg nitrates
0 - nitrites
0- ammonia
6.7ish- PH

never had water q problems mind. wasnt sure if the pair of zebras were mating or in season if thats possible with fish

tank been set up now for at least 6 month got plenty of other fishies and no disturbances recently.

another thing, are my fish mad? i wake up in the morning to find quite a few bits of plants and leaves floating about?
