hi

i brought 3 gold severums and the slightly larger one bullied the smallest to death , i have a medium one and its started on that now.

large one is just over 2 inch, small was 1" 1/2 and other one left isjust under 2".

is this a normal thing or unusual.

Regards

Remove the bully, rearrange your tank and after a while put him back in. It has worked for me, it may work for you too.

Some sevs are mellow. Others are psycho. WIth sevs of the same sex, the usual situation is for them not to tolerate each other unless in a huge tank.

so is it best just to have one , oh and i cant tell the sex

I had just one, and he turned into a bully, was very timid at first but soon started picking on my Angels, I took him back to the shop which was a shame cause he was a beautifull fish.

What other fish in the tank? Conspecific aggression is common with cichlids, but strange that its happened when fish so small sized and in relation to their size, its quite a large tank.

i have blue texas chiclid, rainbow chiclids and a syno.
few others large pencil barbs and 3" tin foils x2 but ifs def him
