however far as i can tell iam allowed 83 inches of fish overall and even if they all grow to a good size i make that 67 inches total.
had tinfoils before and they only got to about 6 "
The syno appears to have stopped growing.

Inches per fish dont count when it comes to cichlids, you have take into consideration that your texas will need that to itself when its older, if not it will kill everything in your tank.

The only reason Tinfoils would stunt growth at a mere 6" is through improper care/insufficiant tank size and its unfair on the fish....eventually their organs will grow to large for their body and they will fail and kill them.

Inches of fish is just a guide, it's not like you could put a 16" fish in there now because you've got 16" of fish left. I suggest you take you Severums, Texas and Tinfoils back to your LFS and get some smaller, more suitable fish.

What's a Pencil Barb? I've never heard of one, and apparently Google hasn't either. Could you provide a photo?

Agree with other posts, fish will get too big for the tank...altho if it is just interpreted as a grow out tank, and the assumption all the fish are 2"ish, strange severums are leading to the death of one another..

Inches of fish doesnt work with cichlids, as cichlids are much bulkier then e.g tetra's, therefore produce far more waste, "per inch".
