Gold Nugget Plec

i pick up a golden nugget plec next week .i was just wondering if anyone has bred these onhere and if so how did u go about it .ie size tank how many golden nuggets u had ect

lol yeah thanks .im just getting one as no someone closing down a tank gave me it for 20 pound so had to buy it .but was thinking maybe getting few in tank there own see what happens will keep researching see what i find

The short answer is don't bother, if you have no experience breeding plecs, then the answer will be 'really don't bother' lol.
 
They are renowned for being hard to keep alive through there younger years and take an age to get to adult hood and breeding age and they are/can be very aggressive towards each other so a large tank to accommodate this is a must, there is a few reports of people getting them to breed but these are usually sketchy and not really backed up with any evidence.
 
Best way of seeing would be have a google search and actually see if you can find a full journal of someone that's bred them... and not somebody that has just claimed to have bred them, there was a journal on plecoplanet and planet catfish.... see if you can find it, i will have a look myself to and if i do manage to find it i will send you a link.
