Problem I'm having is in September I have to leave my fish behind :(

And I just don't think I could handle that.
So I'm going to set up a small 20-40l tank for a male Betta :D

Thing is between terms there is a 4week gap. I don't have to vacate the room, but I will definitely want to come home for extended periods of time.

What are people suggestions.
I can't ask people to feed him for me or put him in a communal area because I'd have to hand over my key card etc and be putting him at risk!
I could poss use a holiday feeder but I would really rather not.

Do you think he'd mind travelling home with me?
I could get him a waterproof container for the journey home and perhaps put him in my community tank at home. I also have spare tanks that I could set up for the couple of weeks.
Home to university is only a 45min - 1hour drive.

I'm starting to think it's less and less do able by the day because I can't definitely get someone to check on him for me.
How does everyone else cope when they go on hols etc?

live at home.... simple..... saves money and you can see the fishies every day :p (this is wha i do lol!)

take him with you , i take my fry with me on uk holidays 100 mile drives and they do better than they would leaving them home

Lol. You know 'normal' people must think we're crazy.

Taking fish on hols with us
How do you transport them? And then what do you keep them in at the other end?
I'm thinking I'll have to take this transportation thing into account when I'm looking for a tank.
