Glass Ornaments

You can put these in the aquarium can't you?
I have a small handblown glass sphere I want to use as a centrepiece in my new betta tank, it's perfectly smooth and round but not sold in a LFS, it's only glass - can I put it in there?

Should think so. My sorority has a large brandy glass filled with stones and plants which they love.. it's a lot more attractive than one of those house-type ornaments.

I have used glass ornaments over the past 3-4 years and never had any problem.

as tanks are made of glass i must not be a problem unless it has any sort of chemical to make it a different colour or somit

Well anyway, that was my plan foiled, my glass sphere floated to the top hehehe
Now for the paperweight idea

How did it float to the top? Did you try to have air in it to make it look "fancy"? No chemicals used to change the color of the glass.

Nope, it was just too light to stay sunk, I should have guessed - it was a blown glass sphere after all

as im no glass expert what is use to make it different colours

You could try some nice vases. My father used to make various vases and crystal ornaments so I know a bit about glass (he still works with glass too, they sometimes make aquariums of unusual shapes).
