Ive decided to do a rescape of my 180l rio. But im undecided as to what. Im thinking river, as i have cories and tetras (a few livebearers too but not sure if keeping them yet). I also like the mountain ones built out of slate with riccia on top (except java moss doesnt grow well in my tank so not sure riccia would). And i also like just well planted well thought out tanks, but just cant get it right when i add plants. Maybe too much of a mixture i dont know.
What i do know is that amazon swords do not do well in my water (leaves go thin), even cabomba doesnt do that well! Crypts do very well, and dwarf sag does well initially then ladders and gets thin and starts dying. I have hard water, with ph8 out of the tap (7.5 with bogwood)

Any ideas or inspiration greatly appreciated :D

It really doesn't matter when plants are introduced to different waters, they do adapt. I also have the hardest water in the world, as does Andy (supercoley), we both have managed to grow many different species of plants. Have a look at Andy's tank, i'm sure he won't mind me linking a pic

Supercoley, very much like a river.

^^That's just to show, with the right balance, plants can be grown in any water. However, if you feel comfortable growing what you have grown before, then get the same plants but more of them.

Nice :good: i think i need to just sit down and plan on paper what i want where, then plant it! im never satistfied with what i end up with though, thats my problem
